A psychiatrist who meets you where you are
I’m Dr. Amir Faghfoory, a board-certified psychiatrist. One goal in mind as I integrate medication management and psychotherapy for your care is that you feel seen, understood, and treated as a whole person.
Virtual care in all US States and DC.

Meet Dr. F
As a board-certified psychiatrist with a strong foundation in psychotherapy, I bring a comprehensive, whole-person understanding to every patient interaction. My training helps me look beyond “symptoms” to truly understand the person in front of me.
My patients refer to me as “Dr. F.”
“I became a psychiatrist in part because I believe everyone deserves to feel understood and supported in their mental health journey. My goal is to provide clarity, compassion, and practical solutions that work for your life.“
Credentials & Expertise

Board-Certified Psychiatrist
Completed rigorous training and continuing education in psychiatric medicine. Board certification ensures you're receiving care from a physician who has met the highest standards in the field.

Psychotherapy Background
Trained in talk therapy approaches that address root causes, not just symptoms. This foundation allows me to understand the psychological, emotional, and behavioral aspects of mental health, not just the biological components.

Holistic Treatment Philosophy
I explore alternatives to medication whenever possible, including therapy, lifestyle modifications, and behavioral strategies. My goal is to find the approach that works best for you as a whole person, not just treat individual symptoms.

Thoughtful Medication Management
When medication is indicated, I prescribe carefully and explain the benefits, risks, and alternatives in full. You’ll always understand exactly what you’re taking, why it’s recommended, and what to expect. I will regularly review your medication to ensure it continues to serve your goals.
Why I Care About Human Care
Great treatment starts with being understood. When you share with me about who you are and what you value in your life (in any and all ways that are important to YOU), I can tailor advice that actually fits your life. That’s how trust turns into progress.
Cedars-Sinai trained. Judd Marmor Faculty Award. Founder, The Psych Clinic (2016).
What I Believe
- Trust is the first prescription; you need to feel heard before any intervention.
- Your story is clinical data that informs your treatment.
- Treatment should fit your life, not the other way around.
- Progress isn’t always linear; I adjust your plan as I learn what works best for you.
- Healing happens in relationship, built on trust and genuine connection.

What guides my practice
These core values shape every interaction and treatment decision
Listening First
Every session begins with truly hearing your story, concerns, and goals. I believe the best treatment plans come from understanding you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms.
Clarity in Options
You deserve to understand all your treatment options. I explain each approach in clear language,
including benefits, risks, and alternatives, so you can make informed choices.
Shared Decisions
Your preferences, values, and goals guide treatment decisions. I work with you to find approaches that align with what matters most to you.
Privacy & Dignity
Your confidentiality and dignity are of paramount importance. Every interaction is conducted with the utmost respect for your privacy and personal autonomy.
How I Work With You

Listen: Your history, culture, language, and goals set the map.
When we first meet, I’ll assess what you are hoping to get from working with me. You’ll have the chance to share your most pressing concerns and hoped-for outcomes. I will explain the collaborative approach we’ll take to your treatment

Plan: Clear options across therapy and medication, explained in plain language.
Based on what I have learned, I will present clear treatment options with honest pros, cons, and timelines. I will explain everything in plain, simple language. You will understand exactly what I am proposing and why.

Iterate: Measure what matters, keep what’s working, adjust quickly
Treatment is not static. I will regularly review what’s working and what’s not, and adjust accordingly. If something isn’t helping, I change it. If it’s effective, I keep it. This is your plan, and it evolves with you.
